Presentation

In the 19th century, the watchmaking family Carl Suchy & Söhne succeeded in becoming an international company. For three generations, the Purveyors to the Royal Habsburg Court catered their handcrafted clocks and watches to the Austrian monarchs and elite. With the demise of the Habsburg Empire, the watch brand also disappeared and fell into oblivion. After 100 years of quiescence, the most important watch brand of the Danube monarchy came back into business. The new automatic watches carry the legacy of Viennese Modernism and showcase the art of Swiss precision.

Waltz N°1 Skeleton Blue Danube | Carl Suchy & Söhne

The Waltz N°1 Skeleton’s design fluidity was inspired by Austrian architect and designer Adolf Loos, who introduced the golden age of Viennese Modernism. Viennese elegance can be found in every detail of the watch – from the curvature of the sapphire crystal, which matches the side profile of the 41,5mm case, to the sleek integrated lugs, and the applied minute and hour hands, which are set into the dial itself and curved upward to match the slope of the rehaut as it meets the baseband.
